ZoneAlarm ForceField

Published by under security

By: MJ

The first of its kind, the ZoneAlarm ForceField is a virtualized browser security service specially fitted to cater to the safety needs of online web surfing. Using a one-of-a-kind virtualization engine, it shields the computer and its sensitive data from internet threats like phishing, dangerous file downloads, and spyware.

It works by creating an exact replica of your computer’s digital identity. The replica also performs the same activities that you do but can take hits from the internet threats. Identity thieves, phishers, and other threats are outsmarted by the fake identity and are fooled into thinking they have hit jackpot when in reality, they have not.

FBI warns of latest expensive Internet traps and tricks

Published by under security,Tips

The FBI, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Earthlink have jointly issued a warning on how the growing ranks of Internet crooks are using new tricks called “phishing” and “spoofing” to steal your identity.

In an FBI press release, Assistant Director of the agency’s Cyber Division, Jana Monroe says, “Bogus e-mails that try to trick customers into giving out personal information are the hottest, and most troubling, new scam on the Internet.

The FBI’s Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) has seen a steady increase in complaints that involve some form of unsolicited e-mail directing consumers to a phony “Customer Service” type of web site. Assistant Director Monroe said that the scam is contributing to a rise in identity theft, credit card fraud, and other Internet frauds.

“Spoofing,” or “phishing,” frauds attempt to make Internet users believe that they are receiving e-mail from a specific, trusted source, or that they are securely connected to a trusted web site, when that is not the case.

Google Bot Detector System Cracked

According to Websense, there are a lot of reasons for spammers to favor using GMail:

“…that from the spammers’ perspective, there are four main advantages to this approach. First, signing up for an account with Google allows access to its wide portfolio of services. Second, Google’s domains are unlikely to be blacklisted. Third, they are free to sign up. And fourth, it may be hard to keep track of them as millions of users worldwide are using various Google services on a regular basis.”

There are actions made by GMail to fix this problem as they come up with different methods in preventing such scam. GMail has invited certain users to have their closed beta test to intensify their security system

They got a hacker to provide them with an insight to act as adviser to the government, a move that would surely get him on every cyber-hit man’s roster or possible targets. They say he’s only on as an adviser but for the world of Black Hats, this is seen a s treachery, a move that counters all beliefs on which they function, to deny his own people. “Dark Tangent” as he was known during his hacking days, was hired by the new and fortified Cyber-Security command which is to try and bolster the ability of the US government to fend of attacks hopefully armed with his insight on how they work.
