The internet started as the military’s Arpanet, which was a security early warning system designed to alert the rest of the US of any pending nuclear attack. It soon turned out that the threat was so great that nobody dared to push the button so the internet had been left to waste till it’s founders discovered you could do all kinds of fun stuff that has led to this ever-present internet of today. In today’s world, we carry gadgets and gizmo’s that allows internet access when ever and where ever we are, all with the click of a mouse or tap of a screen. Come cloud computing, more powerful applications will be juggled and run not on specific servers but in the “cloud” a theoretical world where programs, data and users can interact. Without the bulky computer systems we need today.
